FAQ

How Long Should I Monitor?

We recommend that monitoring take place for at least 7 days in duration so we capture data throughout the week and weekend to be able to assess usage of the facilities.  If bad weather or holiday periods are likely to affect the use of the facilities, then a longer duration is possible.

If compliance with permitted times for usage of the courts is a material factor in the noise complaint, then we would recommend a longer monitoring duration so that a more representative example of the compliance/non-compliance can be gathered.  Which can enhance evidence quality

PAN Acoustics will only commence work on the report once the monitoring is complete so once you feel there is enough data, you can remove the device, let us know via the field removal log and we will then commence work on the report.

How long do the reports take to generate?

The tier 1 report is typically generated within 10 working days from the removal of the device.

How long is the data stored?

We retain the recorded data for all monitoring for 12 months.  Where a report (Tier 1 or 2) has been requested, we retain the data for 5 years in case of legal review

Will the data be used for any other purpose?

Neither PAN Acoustics nor NoiseNet will ever transcribe or use conversations recorded during the course of the monitoring.  We employ AI filters to obscure spoken word that is captured during the monitoring, to protect our customers.

We only utilize relevant captured data to train our acoustic detections systems for improved accuracy to help you and future customers

We may also use captured audio for non-personalised noise assessment or monitoring.  Examples could be for region wide average noise level assessments, or acoustic detection of bird-species for environmental analysis.

You will see an opt-out option for both the use of data for training and for non-personalized noise assessment.  Please select this option if you do not want the audio recordings captured during your monitoring to be utilized in this manner.
